Welcome to Paint Pots.

Everyone employed by Paint Pots is a member of the team and has an important role to play. Good standards of conduct and work performance are essential in maintaining a successful Nursery and helping us to achieve our business goals.

This handbook explains the rules and conditions that are expected of all employees working at Paint Pots. It also gives an overview of our policies. The full policies can be found in our HR Polices & Procedures Manual Your manager has a copy of the HR Policies & Procedures Manual which you may ask to see at any time.

This handbook & policies do not form part of your employment contract.

We have tried to ensure this handbook contains all the information you will require. If there are any areas which need further explanation, please discuss this with your manager.

Working for Paint Pots

All employees are expected to act in the best interests of the Nursery and the children at all times. Any conduct detrimental to the interests of the Nursery, its relations with OfSTED, the Local Education Authority, children, suppliers, visitors or the public will be considered to be a breach of Company Rules.

Employees are expected to act towards children at all times with kindness, respect and tolerance. Any behaviour that could be construed as abuse (physical, verbal, emotional or sexual) is unacceptable and will lead to disciplinary procedure. It could also lead to criminal proceedings. Examples of unacceptable behaviour towards children include - shouting at a child except in an emergency to prevent harm or injury, use of an aggressive tone, swearing, use of derogatory language, inappropriate touch, grabbing, pulling, pinching or physically harming a child in any way.

Employees are expected to maintain respectful, supportive and professional relationships with all colleagues, across Paint Pots and with those from other employers (for example when attending meetings or courses). Examples of unacceptable behaviours include – bullying, gossiping, unkindness, lying, breaking confidentiality, being unsupportive or critical. Any issue between employees must be reported and dealt with using the proper company procedure.
