HR DEVELOPMENT OF POLICIES
It is essential for Paint Pots to set out clearly how it wants to run its business, and how it wants its employees to work with each other. Nursery policies provide everyone with guidelines, of processes to use and they explain the standards of behaviour we expect from all employees.
These policies do not form part of your employment contract, and we may update them at any time.
There are several key objectives in setting out policies clearly:
- To help us to achieve good business results and achieve a successful, profitable business.
- To ensure that we comply with the law and recognise codes of practice.
- To ensure that we are treating employees fairly and consistently right across the Nursery.
- To explain the right ‘way’ of handling things.
- To save managers time, by providing a manual which they can refer to when dealing with different situations.
- To publish a set of policies that are completely open to anyone in the Nursery, and all employees can refer to them to see how a situation is likely to be managed.
- Policies will be developed where it is necessary e.g., to add maximum value to the business e.g., helps us in managing costs.
- For the benefit of employees.
- Clarify processes or procedures that employees are expected to follow.
- Provide guidance for managers and supervisors in dealing with difficult situations.
- Policies will have a clear purpose and be concise and easy to understand.
- Policies will be open to everyone in the organisation not just managers and supervisors.
- Policies will follow a standard format in the interests of consistency and ease of use.
- Policies will be held by managers or supervisors who will be responsible for making sure that they are accessible to their team, and for keeping them up to date.
