Welcome to Paint Pots

Thank you for choosing to join the Paint Pots team as a cleaner. We are delighted to welcome you to our nursery family.

Cleaners play an important role in keeping our nurseries safe, healthy and welcoming for children, families, staff and visitors. Your work helps maintain high standards of hygiene, infection control and safety across the setting, and supports the smooth running of the nursery each day.

As part of your role, you will help keep the environment clean, safe and well maintained. You will also need to understand key Paint Pots procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, fire safety, COSHH, confidentiality and how to raise concerns. To help you settle into your role, we have developed a cleaner induction programme. This is designed to give you the essential knowledge, awareness and confidence needed to work safely and effectively within our settings.

There is a lot to learn, but you will not be expected to do it alone. Your manager, mentor and colleagues will support you throughout your induction, answer questions, and help you understand how we work at Paint Pots.

We want you to feel welcomed, valued and confident as part of the Paint Pots team. Please speak to your manager or mentor at any point if you need help or are unsure about anything. We are very pleased to have you with us and look forward to working with you.

How to use this guide

  1. Read each policy and document listed.
  2. Discuss learning with your manager.
  3. Complete the Paint Pots Cleaner Induction Record.
  4. Ask questions if anything is unclear.
  5. Continue through the programme week by week.
