Purpose of the Policy

This policy sets out how Amazon may be used to purchase goods for Paint Pots to ensure spending is controlled, appropriate, transparent, and represents good value for money. Amazon is intended as a convenience purchasing route and should not be treated as the default supplier where better-value or approved alternatives exist.

Scope

This policy applies to:

• All staff authorised to make purchases on behalf of the nursery via Amazon business accounts
• All purchases charged to nursery funds, cards, or reimbursement claims

Approved Use of Amazon

Amazon may be used for:

• Consumables and nursery resources
• Replacement items required to maintain safe or effective operation
• Items not readily available in a timely manner through existing approved suppliers

Amazon should not be used for:

• Large or planned purchases where quotes should be obtained
• Regular recurring items better sourced through approved suppliers
• Personal items or mixed personal/business orders

Spending Limits & Authorisation

• Staff may place orders up to £50 per order without prior authorisation
• Purchases must be within the monthly nursery budget, necessary for nursery operation, reasonable in cost and clearly linked to nursery use.
