POLICY INFORMATION

We promote sustainable and active travel as part of our commitment to healthy and active lifestyles. We encourage all children, parents/carers, staff and visitors to support us as we recognise that both individuals at the nursery as well as the wider community, benefit from opportunities to:

• Improve health and fitness
• Increase travel awareness and widen choices
• Reduce traffic congestion in and around the nursery / preschool, thus improving personal safety
• Reduce pollution and increase environmental awareness
• Reduce driving stress and improve journey quality

Top 3 Positive Choices

Active Travel

• Be positive and active - walk, bike, tricycle or scooter your way to Why don’t you collect a friend along the way?
• Leave enough time for a longer journey.
• It’s good for your health and the environment.
• The nursery has some storage for bikes but talk to the manager if you need to keep your bike there to ensure its safety. All personal equipment is kept at the nursery at the owners own risk.
• If using a buggy and your child is capable of walking, encourage him to walk as far as he is able to.

Park and Stride

• If you do live far away and have to take the car please consider parking away from the nursery and walking to us.
• It’s good for your health and the environment, providing exercise for you and your It reduces congestion on the nursery site and potential traffic hazards for pedestrians.

Car Share
